Welcome to my journey!
Hi there!
Has it ever happened to you that you get stuck on a project just because you don't know where to start? That's roughly how this personal project — my own web portfolio — went. I had a base, my previous portfolio ecra-portafolio, but I hit a creative block because I didn't know what to design.
This time was different, though — my main motivation and assistant was Artificial Intelligence. My biggest frustration with web design has always been finding colors that look good together; no matter how well I understood color theory (analogous, complementary, etc.), I couldn't find a palette that convinced me. So I took the base color from my previous portfolio and asked ChatGPT: "I want to redesign my web developer portfolio. I have this base color #FFFFFF — what are my options?"
That's how it started. With a base in hand, I got to work. I did it on my own, drawing inspiration from different portfolios I found around the web, and came up with this Figma design. It's simple, and I wanted to give it some interactivity like my previous one had.
Then came the next challenge — writing the code.
I also wanted to learn about AI (and honestly, I was blown away). I leveraged my knowledge and got a product that, doing it on my own, would have taken much longer than expected.
There were mistakes on the AI's side, but my experience helped fix them, leaving me with a much better product (I'll write a post about that).
This was a short story of how ecradev was born. I found in AI an extra push, a hand to ship things that had been pending for a while.
How many projects do you have stalled because of unknowns? Now's a great time to make them happen!
